ABOUT ME
I am a qualified genealogist, with over 25 years experience in family history research. I have an MSc in Genealogical, Palaeographic & Heraldic Studies (with distinction) from the University of Strathclyde.
I am based in South Shields, Tyne and Wear. I have access to the archives in Newcastle, Northumberland and Durham, as well as Local and Family History Centres throughout the North East.
I specialise in poor law, workhouse and asylum archive documents.
I am also a member of the Register of Qualified Genealogists.
RESEARCH SERVICES
Family History
I offer family history packages and bespoke research by the hour.
Each research project will include a free initial consultation interview to discuss your specific requirements. The first hour of research is free, to ensure the project is viable.
Packages
Following the initial consultation and first hour of research, I will provide a quotation, based on the type of genealogical research package you require. The package can be tailored to your request and budget.
A narrative report will be supplied documenting each ancestor, including mini charts for each, which will include any identified children and siblings. Images of documents (where copyright allows), or transcripts of copyrighted material and a pedigree chart of direct ancestry. There is also the option to have the report produced as a hardback book, which will incur an additional cost.
Bespoke Research
If you have hit a brick wall, or would like some general research conducted, this will be charged at £25.00 hourly rate.
Archive and Document Research
If you require a document search but are unable to attend an archive or respiratory yourself, I offer this service and have access to Tyne & Wear Archives, Northumberland Archives and Durham Record Office Archives, as well as local and family history centres across the North East of England.
House History
If you have ever wondered how old your house is or who lived there in the past, I also offer house history research.
ADDITIONAL COSTS
Additional costs will be incurred for travel to archives or sites of interest. This will be charged at 45p per mile.
Birth, marriage and death certificates can be located and ordered at your request, which would incur an additional charge of between £8.00 to £12.50, however, to find out the current cost of certificates, please visit the GRO website at https://www.gro.gov.uk. Any certificates purchased will become your property on completion.
TESTIMONIALS
"Beverley was thorough with her initial questions, gathering as much information as I could remember and kept me updated throughout the research. It is interesting to learn where I came from. The discovery of some skeletons in the cupboards of my ancestors was exciting to read about. I am excited about being able to share all this new information with my sisters. I wish I had not waited so long to learn about my family history. It was well worth every penny spent on this research."
Carol H, Hampshire, UK.
"I used Family Lines Genealogy and was more than satisfied with the outcome. Nothing was too much trouble, and the content Bev found was amazing. I would definitely recommend."
